“We at The Center for Dermatology Care are excited to be one of the first Dermatology Practices in Ventura County offering Kybella™ to our patients, a new, fat-dissolving injection for treatment of submental fullness (double chin).” -Andrew J. Kaufman, M.D., F.A.C.P.

The Center for Dermatology Care is now offering Kybella™, a nonsurgical, FDA approved way to improve your chin profile. Kybella™ is the first and only injectable drug for submental fullness, or “double chin”. Submental fullness can impact a broad range of adults, including both men and women, and can be influenced by several factors such as aging, genetics and weight gain and is often resistant to diet and exercise. According to a survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, nearly as many consumers are bothered by submental fullness (68%) as by lines and wrinkles around the eyes (71%).

Each in-office treatment session with Kybella™ is typically 20-30 minutes. When injected into subcutaneous fat, Kybella™ causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat again.

With this nonsurgical treatment, many patients experience visible results in two to four treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart. Treatment with Kybella™ is customized by your doctor to fit the patient’s aesthetic goals for an improved chin profile.

The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and formation of areas of firmness in the treatment area. In clinical trials, the incidence and severity of most side effects decreased with subsequent Kybella™ treatments.

To schedule a consultation and find out if Kybella™ is right for you, please call us at (805) 497-1694.

It is with extensive precautionary measures per the COVID-19 CDC guidelines that our Tustin offices will be temporarily closed. However, our Thousand Oaks Office will remain open Monday – Wednesday from 8:00AM – 12:00 PM but closed Thursday and Fridays.

In Addition, our Santa Barbara offices will be open up to 2 days a month or as needed for any urgent needs our patients may require.
