Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is a procedure that reconstructs the outer shape of the nose. This procedure is considered a cosmetic surgery to reshape the nose. A Septoplasty, or correction of the septum is a procedure that treats some types of breathing problems, and reconstructs the inner parts of the nose.
A “facelift” (rhytidectomy) is surgical procedure used to rejuvenate the face. A facelift and/or necklift (platysmaplasty) may lift and smooth out skin around the jowls, mouth and/or neck.
Botox® Cosmetic is a purified form of the botulism toxin (onabotulinumtoxinA) approved by the FDA to smooth out and soften vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows. However, physicians may also use Botox Cosmetic injections to treat other dynamic wrinkles, including crow’s feet and horizontal forehead furrows. It can also give a subtle lift to the brow, as well as soften platysmal bands in the neck.
Juvéderm, from the makers of Botox Cosmetic, is a hyaluronic-acid based filler that is typically used for wrinkles and lines on the lower portion of the face, including the treatment of nasolabial or melolabial folds – the “parentheses” that run from the nostrils to the corners of the mouth.
